In my last post I featured my favorite adoptee blogs, the ones that I personally subscribe to and follow. This week I widen the adoption lens and highlight adoption blogs from the other side of the adoption conversation: birth parents and adoptive parents. Here are five adoption blog sites that share personal knowledge, offer advice and opinions and are willing to interact with their readers. If you check out Health Line, you can peruse a more extensive list of adoption parenting blogs.

1. Creating a Family is a site that discusses adoption, foster care, and infertility.  Online courses are offered through the site for adoptive parents, foster parents, social workers, and infertility nurses. I enjoyed a recent post: “How Much To Share With Teachers of Your Foster or Adopted Child’s Past.”

2. Adoptive Families Circle is an adoption community site.  There is a multitude of resources for adoptive parents, adoptees, and birth parents, as well as information on domestic adoption, foster care adoption, international adoption, and interracial adoption. “Seeing Adoption From The Other Side” was a post I enjoyed.

3. Confessions of an Adoptive Parent – The couple that runs this site have eight adoptive children and a wealth of experience with the foster care system. “8 Common Myths of Foster Care Dispelled” is a gripping post.

4. Jamie Ivey is a mother of four, three of whom are adopted.  Her personal experience covers both international and domestic adoption. She offers posts and podcasts on her site.

5. Rage Against the Minivan – Kristen Howerton is both an adoptive mother and a marriage and family therapist.  On the site she offers her perspectives on interracial adoption, and highlights open letters from adoptees to their birth parents.
